Event Forwarding

mParticle is a Customer Data Platform (CDP), providing Remerge with the relevant user base and event data. Remerge requires confirmation of an app open to measure campaign performance. In certain scenarios (and depending on campaign goals), both app open and conversion events are necessary to assess the effectiveness of a marketing campaign.

Below is our step-by-step guide to activation of event forwarding from mParticle to Remerge.

Please note: Event forwarding is possible ONLY if you have integrated mParticle's SDK in your app, and this is our recommended data forwarding method. That being said, if you are utilizing mParticle's data warehouse without their SDK, please follow the instructions on our Audience Forwarding page. In case of any questions, please reach out to your Remerge Account Manager.

1. Initiate Setup 

  • Log in to your mParticle Account, click DIRECTORY, located on the lower left-hand corner of the dashboard's navigation menu, and find Remerge from the search bar located under Connect your data anywhere.

2. Activate Remerge 

  • Select Remerge as your media partner by clicking + Add Remerge to Setup.

3. Select Integration Type

  • Go to Choose an Integration Type and click EVENT (OUTPUT) > Send raw event data to Remerge from mParticle > Add to Setup.

4. Complete Configuration Settings

  • Give your configuration a name by entering it in the Configuration Name box.
  • Enter the below-mentioned Remerge authentication protocols in their corresponding boxes, if you have yet to do so (potentially during the Audience setup stage). For further information on mParticle's Audience creation page please visit Audience Forwarding. 
  • Upon completion click Save and find your final result under the EVENT CONFIGURATIONS tab, as displayed below:
    • Remerge API Key (Provided by your Remerge Account Manager).
    • Remerge Customer ID (AppStore ID/Package Name, such as 553834731, and Google Play Store App ID, such as com.king.candycrush).

5. Establish Input & Output Connection

  • Input Connection - This is the source/platform of your event data (in our specific example, the events are coming from the iOS platform):

    • Click CONNECTIONS > Connect > Select Input.

  • Output Connection - This is the recipient of your event data. By adding Remerge as your connected output and connecting it with the previously set up Input Connection, you are in fact adding Remerge as your event data recipient.

    • Click CONNECTIONS > Connect > + Connect Output.

    • Go to Configuration Name, select your configuration from the drop-down menu and click Add Connection. The Next button switches to the Add Connection button upon selecting the configuration.

  • Additionally, you may employ mParticle's RULES, FORWARDING, and USER SAMPLING event forwarding customization functionalities as per the below set of screens.
  • Once the connection is complete, you may select it upon adding events to Remerge in the Partner Directory.

6. Confirm Setup 

  • Reach out to your Remerge Account Manager to confirm the arrival of events.
