AppsFlyer's Audiences is an advanced remarketing tool, offering its clients a method to build audience segments and connect them to a particular network.
Remerge has integrated the feature to automate Recurring User List Imports. For your convenience, we have gathered a list of cases in which you may utilize AppsFlyer's Audiences:
- You would like to provide Remerge with updated segmentation lists frequently.
- You would like to provide Remerge with data unavailable via in-app events.
- You would like to achieve an even split of users in a head-to-head test.
- You wish to run a test campaign with Remerge with a specific one-time list of users.
- You have just turned on real-time in-app events for Remerge and would like to share the last three months of app-opens/in-app purchases with us (as an alternative for Historical Data).
- You would like to run an incrementality campaign via AppsFlyer's Audiences tool.
The following guide takes you through the implementation of Audiences. In case of any questions, please reach out to your Remerge Account Manager.
1. Add your Audience
- Log in to your AppsFlyer account.
- Select your app.
- Go to the left-hand corner of the dashboard and select Integration > Audiences.
- You should find yourself on the Audiences page, displaying the Audiences and Connections tabs. Remain on the Audiences tab and click on the Add audience button to the right of the Search Audiences search bar (upon completion, you should be able to locate your audience by typing its name in the search bar).
- Click on the Build tab.
- Enter your Audience name in its respective field.
- Select your platform (Android/iOS) from its respective field.
2. Define your Audience
- You should find yourself on the Define the audience page. Select the New ruleset option from the top left-hand corner of the page.
- Build your audience by adhering to the audience segment ruleset and user interface guidelines. Please note: The audience segment ruleset consists of a Primary rule and additional Secondary rules to enable precision filtering.
- Primary Rule (MANDATORY) - You MUST define ONE primary rule per ruleset.
- Secondary Rule (OPTIONAL) - You MAY define MULTIPLE unique secondary rules (such as engagement, in-app event, or revenue), consisting of various parameters and settings.
- Combine Rulesets - You MAY combine a ruleset with an existing (imported or not) audience:
- Click on Select from my Audiences.
- Utilize the corresponding Operator (AND, OR, EXCLUDE) to suit your business needs best.
- Primary Rule (MANDATORY) - You MUST define ONE primary rule per ruleset.
- Additionally, we encourage you to review the All About Rulesets and Traits & Limitations sections of AppsFlyer's Audiences guide. Upon completion, click on Save audience and proceed.
3. Connect to Remerge

Add Remerge
- Click on the Connect tab.
- You should find yourself on the Set up connections page. Click on Create new connection.
- Go to the Connection name field and enter the corresponding information.
- Go to the Partner name field and select Remerge from the field's drop-down menu.
- Go to the Set connection section of the screen and enter the previously retrieved login credentials in their respective fields.
- Upon completion, click on the Add connection button from the bottom of the page.
- You have now successfully added Remerge as a connection. Go to the Audiences page > Audiences tab, and locate your audience by typing its name in the Search Audiences search bar. Review your audience details to ensure its connection to Remerge. Should Remerge not appear as a connection, review and repeat step 3. Connect to Remerge.
- You might want to consider configuring a split (isolated test groups) and/or control group, should these fit your business needs (Appsflyer Incrementality Test, H2H Test), as follows:
- Split an audience amongst partners/enable control group.
- Toggle ON Split audience.
- Upon need, go to the Control group field and enter a percentage (AppsFlyer's recommendation for their incrementality methodology: 15% +)
- Toggle ON Split audience.
- Copy split groups to S3 Remerge Client Bucket. Please note: This action is NOT the equivalent of defining Amazon S3 as a connected partner.
- Click on Copy split groups to S3.
- Select your connection.
- Click on Copy split groups to S3.
- Split an audience amongst partners/enable control group.
- Upon completion, click on Save changes.
Please note: Modifying an existing split allocation between partners may negatively impact the validity of your H2H or incrementality test measurements. Therefore, once you implement the split, keep said split throughout the test duration (as the test can be an H2H, incrementality, or a combination of both).
4. Confirm Setup
Reach out to your Remerge Account Manager to confirm process completion and enable testing.
