The following guide takes you through tracking link generation for Android and iOS apps with AppsFlyer to accommodate the Retargeting campaign strategy. Please follow the instructions, and in case of any questions, reach out to your Remerge Account Manager.
1. Generate your Remerge Tracking Link
Log in to your AppsFlyer account and select your App. From the sidebar to the left select Configuration > Active Integrations > locate Remerge from the search bar > Attribution link tab.
Go to Choose your attribution link type and toggle ON Use OneLink. Select your Onelink from the Select OneLink template drop-down menu. For further information on AppsFlyer's OneLink and its respective best practices, please visit the OneLink Overview Page. Check the box next to Deep linking and enter the deep link value(s) to enable deep linking.
Important: Be sure that the OneLink template is configured for retargeting and is compatible with Universal Links and Android App Links (i.e., Android URI scheme). For more details, see AppsFlyer's OneLink guide.
You may skip the Attribution link parameters section, as the required standardized list of parameters and values will be automatically populated in AppsFlyer's User Interface.
2. Configure Retargeting Settings
Toggle ON the Retargeting settings option to activate your Retargeting campaign attribution link.
For URI scheme, enter the raw deep link URL that opens your app or the raw deep link path leading to the page in your app you would like to have users land on.
We recommend toggling on Ignore active users for retargeting only when you need to set an inactivity window, during which active users are filtered out. Otherwise, this should be toggled off to avoid any potential negative impact to campaign performance.
For Re-engagement window, specify the time window following re-engagement conversion, during which in-app events are primarily attributed to Remerge.
3. Configure lookback windows for click and view-through tracking links
If necessary, you can update the default lookback windows for click and view-through tracking links. To learn more, see AppsFlyer's guide on lookback windows. If you are working with other ad networks, be sure to align your lookback windows with those of all other ad networks you are working with in order to keep your measurement standards consistent across all your ad networks.
There is no need to make any changes to the links as they are automatically generated based on your parameter selections and tracking link configuration settings.
Note that the view-through lookback window only applies to the deterministic attribution model, and you must ensure that view-through attribution via probabilistic modeling has been enabled. To enable probabilistic view-through attribution, go to Configuration > App Settings and toggle on Enable view-through attribution via probabilistic modeling below Attribution.
Go to the Click-through lookback window and set the bar to your preferred time frame, as displayed below.
Go to the View-through lookback window and set the bar to your preferred time frame as displayed below.
Save your newly created attribution links by clicking the Save Attribution link button at the bottom of the right-hand corner of the page.
Make sure you follow this guide above and DO NOT employ any kind of custom links:
4. Share your Remerge Attribution Links with Remerge
Forward your newly generated Remerge Attribution Tracking Links to your Remerge Account Manager.
