The following document is our step-by-step guide to event forwarding from AppsFlyer to Remerge. Said guide accommodates the Retargeting and User Acquisition campaign strategies on Android and iOS devices. Please follow the instructions that correspond with your respective campaign strategy or device as per the below titles. In case of any questions, reach out to your Remerge Account Manager.
1. Verify App Settings
- Log in to your AppsFlyer account.
- Select your app.
- Ensure your app settings meet your strategic campaign needs (e.g., toggle Enable retargeting attribution and set your Minimum time between re-engagement conversions to None).
2. Activate Partner
- Click on Explore marketplace and locate Remerge.
- Set up integration.
- Select the app in question.
- Go to the left-hand corner of the dashboard and select Configurations > Integrated Partners > Remerge > Integration tab.
- Toggle ON the Activate partner option.
3. Apply Device-Specific Settings
- Retargeting & User Acquisition Campaigns - iOS:
- Toggle OFF Advanced Privacy (for iOS 14.5+ and later).
- Toggle OFF Advanced Privacy (for iOS 14.5+ and later).
- User Acquisition Campaign - iOS:
- Toggle ON Share SKAN transaction ID.
- Toggle ON Share SKAN transaction ID.
4. Customize Campaign Windows
- Select the attribution windows that support your campaign's strategy as displayed below:
- User Acquisition Campaign - Android & iOS:
- Toggle ON Install view-through attribution.
- Toggle ON Install view-through attribution.
- Retargeting Campaign - Android & iOS:
- Toggle ON Re-engagement view-through attribution.
- Toggle ON Re-engagement view-through attribution.

5. Configure Event Forwarding
- Go to the Sending option drop-down menu and select All media sources, including organic, at ALL TIMES. Please note:
- Remerge implements retargeting by applying real-time segmentation based on NON-attributed events (events not attributed to Remerge by Appsflyer). Consequently, you MUST ensure to select All media sources, including organic, as this is a PREREQUISITE to running a campaign with Remerge. Neglecting to pick said option will result in your inability to run a campaign with Remerge.
- Remerge implements retargeting by applying real-time segmentation based on NON-attributed events (events not attributed to Remerge by Appsflyer). Consequently, you MUST ensure to select All media sources, including organic, as this is a PREREQUISITE to running a campaign with Remerge. Neglecting to pick said option will result in your inability to run a campaign with Remerge.
- Toggle ON In-app event postbacks. Ensure the In-app events postback window is set to Lifetime.
- Select the Add manually option.
- Go to the SDK event name column and add the relevant in-app event postbacks as instructed and displayed below. Please note:
- Event names are case-sensitive. Therefore, please start by entering the relevant event name and selecting it from the drop-down menu. Doing so ensures proper integration (e.g., if you have already configured an event name titled af_purchase, AppsFlyer's interface will automatically locate it in its system upon typing the letters af_pur).
- Include the af_app_opened event.
- We recommend selecting the Values & revenue option from the Send revenue drop-down menu.
- As different verticals (and thus, campaigns) utilize various in-app events, your campaign's success relies heavily on the type, quantity, and quality of the in-app events you would like us to track. For the optimal campaign setup, select your in-app events with the support of your Remerge Account Manager.
- Upon completion, click on the Save Integration button at the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
6. Grant Agency Permissions
- If you are an agency, follow the (same) listed above steps for partner activation and postback configuration. For further support, please refer to AppsFlyer's guide. Once done, AppsFlyer's interface will automatically add the parameter af_prt to your Attribution Link.
7. Confirm Setup
- Reach out to your Remerge Account Manager to confirm the completion of the above steps and the arrival of events.
