For your convenience, we have gathered insights on some of the most frequently asked questions with respect to Singular's reporting, data display, and creative assets.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are Smart/Custom Links? May I utilize Smart Links with Remerge?
Marketers employ Smart (also known as Custom) Links to redirect users to various (device-based) destinations via a single tracking link. This type of tracking link can be effective in custom marketing sources such as Email/SMS campaigns, as one cannot predict the device (Android/iOS) the user employs upon clicking on a certain tracking link.
Smart Links are not applicable to Remerge campaigns, as our campaigns are always platform-specific. This is due to the fact that the impression slots offered in programmatic are always suited for either Android or iOS devices. Therefore, Remerge splits its campaigns by platform (Android/iOS), and thus utilizes two separate links.
2. Is every Singular Link a Universal Link?
No, it is not. Universal Links are unique to the iOS ecosystem. In order to transform a Singular Link into a Universal Link, the domain must be whitelisted in the app. For a complete overview of requirements, please ensure your developers have met Singular's iOS prerequisites.
3. Can my tracking link deep link my users to various destinations?
Yes, it can! During the tracking link creation process, you should simply append a variable (e.g., &product_id={id}) to the deep linking path.
Remerge can then dynamically replace the appended variable with a corresponding value from your feed, and thus guide your user to the appropriate destination (e.g., myapp://shop/products/{product_id}).
Ensure to append the variable during the tracking link creation process, to both the deferred and standard deep links (applicable to both the Legacy and Singular Link tracking links).
We encourage clients to consult internally on the topic of their redirect method, the exact placement of the variable (e.g. {product_id} or other), and the path parameter.
4. How may I add tracking link data as my Remerge data source?
Tracking link data is automatically configured as a data source upon providing Remerge with the Singular tracking link and its utilization in a live campaign, and as such, clients are not required to perform any further steps. In other words, Singular collects tracking data by default, from the moment of campaign go-live.
5. What type of information may I find in the tracking link?
The availability of information depends on the parameters that have been appended to the tracking link and as such can vary. The following are examples of Remerge's default tracking link templates:
6. Why is my tracking link test unsuccessful?
The unsuccessful testing process of tracking links might be due to the incorrect setting of your re-engagement inactivity windows. Ensure your re-engagement inactivity windows are set to ZERO by following the instruction under the Test your Remerge Tracking Link step (point n.3) of our Android iOS Tracking Link Generation guide.
7. Does Singular offer the View-Through-Attribution (VTA) method for retargeting?
No, they do not. Singular allows you to provides Remerge with a View-Through-Attribution tracking link for the purpose of impression tracking.
That being said, Singular does NOT offer an attribution window for View-Through-Attribution and (thus by default) does NOT employ this method for retargeting campaigns.
8. What is unique about Singular's reporting structure?
Singular's reporting consists of a combination of tracking link and Network information and does not offer two separate reports. Instead, Singular maps the combined data and displays it in a single report on their dashboard. Consequently, clients have visibility to all of the data (regardless if it arrives from the network and/or tracking link).
That being said, the information compiled in the report depends on the metrics, report types, and partner portal limitations that the client has originally enabled, placed and shared with Remerge. This report is available for daily download.
9. What type of information is streamlined from the Remerge API?
Clients should expect to find impression, click, and cost data arriving from the Remerge API data source. For further information on the type of data that Singular can pull from the Remerge Reporting API, please visit our Remerge Reporting API page. Clients may view said data by logging in to their Singular Account, adding the Remerge reporting API as a data source, and following the steps listed on our Remerge as a Data Connector page.
10. I have noticed that you have added Ad Label ID and Ad Label Name to the Remerge Reporting API. Where could I find the information pertaining to these fields in Singular's dashboard?
Yes, we have! You may log in to your Singular Account and find the information pertaining to Remerge's Ad Label ID and Ad Label Name fields under the Sub Campaign ID and Sub Campaign Name fields.
11. Where are the spend data coming from?
Spend data are streamed solely from the Remerge reporting API.
12. Where are the creative data coming from and what are the different forms of creative data display?
Creative data are streamed solely from the Remerge reporting API and clients may view the data either in an aggregated or individual form. In fact, it is possible to group creative assets in the form of creative clusters, based on Image Recognition Technology.
However: In case of a dynamic campaign, in which the creative URL arrives from a feed, the creative name will not be available in the Remerge reporting API. This also means that the creative data will not be available for clustering or filtering. Instead, the reporting dashboard will display a placeholder ad.
