Remerge utilizes the Branch click tracking link to achieve the following goals:
- Ensure the most optimal user experience.
- Notify Branch of a user click driven by a Remerge ad.
Below is our guide to generating Android and iOS tracking links with Branch to accommodate both the Retargeting and User Acquisition campaign strategies. Please follow the instructions that correspond with your respective campaign strategy. In case of any questions, reach out to your Remerge Account Manager.
Please note:
- Unless stated otherwise, the below instructions apply to both campaigns (Retargeting/User Acquisition).
- Retargeting and User Acquisition campaign strategies utilize the same tracker.
- The attribution windows for each campaign strategy are enabled separately. However, we need you to employ the same attribution window.
Retargeting Campaign Deep Linking Guidelines:
- Android - You may employ App Links (Android version 6+ only) or a Raw Custom Scheme.
- iOS - Utilize Universal Links as your deep linking method.
- Dynamic Product Ads - In case your tracking link needs to be Dynamic, ensure that said tracking link contains a variable (e.g.,{product_id}) that Remerge can replace dynamically (to reroute your users to the exact product page within the app).
1. Select your Platform
- Log in to your Branch account.
- Go to the left-hand corner of the dashboard and click Ads > Links.
- Go to the upper right-hand corner of the dashboard and hover over the Create button.
- Select Ad Link from the respective drop-down menu.
- Go to the App Only section of the pop-up screen and select App Install or Engagement from its drop-down menu.
- Click the Continue button located at the bottom of the screen.
2. Define Domain & Partner
- Go to the Define tab and select your link domain.
- Type your link name in its respective field.
- Click the Which Ad Partner is this for? drop-down menu and select Remerge.
- Click the What ad format are you using? drop-down menu and select App Only.
- Click the Configure Options button located at the bottom right-hand corner.
3. Configure Deep Linking & Analytics Data

Retargeting Campaign:
- Remain on the Define tab and provide DEEP LINKING, and REDIRECTS data (if your app is not/no longer installed on a user's device, this information should redirect users to the digital store of the platform/s on which your app is located (iOS - Apple App Store and Android - Google Play). Your default setting should fulfill the above criteria. Should this not be the case, go to the REDIRECTS tab and specify the corresponding store, as per the below example).
- Upon completion, click the Create Link Now button, located at the bottom right-hand corner. Your newly created tracking links will be displayed on the Ad Link Created page.
4. Set Up your Attribution Windows
Please note:
- Remerge may configure a single CTA and single VTA window length per app ONLY. Therefore, select ONE attribution window length per CTA and ONE attribution window length per VTA respectively. You may follow the below recommendations:
- CTA - Click-To-Conversion event, with a 30-day window.
- VTA - Impression-To-Conversion event, with a 1-day window.
- Inactivity Window (employed by Branch for cohorts analysis only and not general attribution) is set to 0.
- If you are running both User Acquisition and Retargeting campaigns, set the same attribution window length for both campaigns (e.g., 30 days for the Click-To-Install event and 30 days for the Click-To-Conversion event).
Once the above-mentioned requirements are met you may configure your attribution windows on Account or Ad Partner levels.
Account Level
- Go to Configure > Configuration > ATTRIBUTION WINDOWS.
Ad Partner Level
- Go to Ads > Partner Management > Ad Partners > Search > Remerge > Attribution Windows.

Retargeting Campaign:
- Ensure Only attribute based on install touch is turned OFF. Neglecting to leave the said option unchecked [X] would make it impossible for Remerge to implement retargeting.

- Go to Ads > Partner Management > Ad Partners > Search > Remerge > Attribution Windows.
5. Share your Remerge Tracking Link & Attribution Windows with Remerge
Upon completion of the above steps, provide your Remerge Account Manager with the following:
- Click-Through Attribution(CTA) tracking link.
- View-Through Attribution (VTA) tracking link (if applicable).
- Screenshot of the Attribution Windows Page from Account and Ad Partner levels:
- Confirmation on whether or not the Inactivity Window/Cohort Reporting should be applied.
- The campaign name you typed into your Branch account so that Remerge employs the same campaign name.
