The following document offers insight into the Rich Media Ad Format type and its corresponding implementation guidelines for both In-House Creatives (client) and Extended Support (Remerge). Please review the respective information, and in case of further questions, reach out to your Remerge Account Manager.
What & Why?
The Rich Media Ad Format is built on the Mobile Rich-Media Ad Interface Definitions (MRAID) framework and created by combining file and code components. Said ad asset type employs multimedia (Video, Audio, 3D, Complex Interactions) to promote interactivity. Its strengths lie in the associated superior user experience, advanced device functions, data collection capabilities, and multi-purposing potential.
In-House Creatives
Prerequisites
- Build Rich Media creatives according to the below-defined Remerge guidelines.
Implementation Guidelines
Index.HTML File Requirements
- Type - The main file, controlling all other assets and in which variables are set.
- Size - 8K MAX.
- Format - A basic HTML file minus the <html>, <head>, and <body> tags.
Placeholder List
- Click URL Placeholder - {{ClickUrl.WithParams TargetUrl:TargetUrl}}.
- Main Path {base_url} Placeholder.
Please note: The main path ends without a dash. Accordingly, the continued path should contain a dash (e.g., path = https://assets.remerge.io/you/folder1/ad1. To access a file, append /js/script.js). - Ad Feedback Placeholder: {ready_url} - Fires upon MRAID event's readiness.
- Ad Feedback Placeholder: {ad_loaded_url} - Fires upon the completion of the ad loading (content included) process, and first frame rendering.
- Ad Feedback Placeholder: {ad_touch_url} - Fires upon the user's initial interaction with the ad.
- Ad Feedback Placeholder: {error_url} - MRAID error URL. The following placeholders offer further detail regarding the error in question:
- {DOMAIN} - Context on the error's location.
- {ERR_MSG} - The specific MRAID error message.
(e.g., https://eu3.remerge.events/ad_feedback/ocqmyx87iMEaXMTW/error?partner=applovin&ts=2023-01-27T16-14-20Z&ad=4666629&uid=e96ce448-672a-450b-8d6b-e23448a3bfa0&domain={DOMAIN}&message={ERR_MSG}&cluster=eu3).
Total Asset Size Requirements
- Below 2.5MB pending a stable internet connection, but otherwise, below 1.2MB.
Testing
The following partners facilitate your ability to test your ads. To enable said testing, ensure the presence of a valid path in your index.html file to replace {base_url} with the location where you would host your ad.
- Upload your index.html file to the Applovin tool:
https://p.applov.in/playablePreview?create=1&qr=1 - Copy and paste the content of your index.html file into the box.
https://demos.ironsrc.com/test-tool/?adUnitLoader=mraid&mode=testing&size=tablet
Please note: Click URL, and Ad Feedback will NOT work in the preview. Therefore, replace the {base_url} placeholder with the location where you would host your ad.
